Getting married in a cultural hall? Embrace it!

Having a reception in a cultural hall this winter?  Don’t be embarrassed–embrace it!  So instead of a faux ceiling hiding the basketball hoop, why not take photos in front of it? Great and fun photos can be taken anywhere.  And necessity brings out some of the best creativity.  If you have a fun cultural hall wedding feel free to email me here info (at) blue light bride (dot) com.

When my groom and I married almost 14 years ago this Christmas season, our reception was at the high school where my dad was a guidance counselor. Their cafeteria had all sorts of glowing vending machines along the walls, so we put up those partitions about three feet in front of them and a swags of Christmas lights and large burgundy bows accenting the partitions. The machines gave a soft glow to the room that was beautiful. We also put up displays of our childhood pictures on the bulletin boards that lined the long hallways to the cafeteria so guests could have something to look at as they chatted in the receiving lines.

I’m sure there were other things we did to the area… but fourteen years is a long time ago! :-D

What a great idea! Why hide where you got married or celebrated afterwards?!? Embrace it!

Just came here from the Cosmo Cricket blog. This site is great! I wish I had known about it when I was planning my wedding. I will be passing it onto my friends!
